Random Edit
I decided to edit this photo because I liked the original photo in itself. I wanted to manipulate this image to make it seem as though there are light streaks within the image.
I have recently been really liking using this effect on my photos to make them look a little different. I've tried it on many different images and I thought that it would look good on a picture I did for lines because then it would contrast with the wiggly lines created by the different coloured streaks.
I made the original image black and white so that the coloured streaks would stand out more on the image. I think that the colours look good in the picture because they are placed across the main white lines on the page. I tried the original picture with a darker black and white colour but it made the colours look like a less prominent part of the photo which wasn't how I intended it to be.
Work Record - Frost
Plans for the shoot
For this shoot I planned to capture the frost on leaves and flowers, basically anything to do with nature and I think that went to plan. All of my best pictures were captured in this kind of way. I went out with the intention of getting only a few shots but I think that I got many more than I anticipated. I planned to go out around the college and take photos of leaves and flowers and natural things such as this and take photos in this light. I think that the idea to do this was realistic and it worked well. I also planned to go out and take photos of anything I could see regarding frost, rather than just focusing on the natural type of aspect. If there was frost of wall surfaces or benches then I would take photos of that as well, with interesting angles and lighting of course.
What I hope to achieve
I hope that after I complete this shoot, I will have a lot of really natural frost shots that I can edit to look really interesting. I hope that all of the photos I get are good and that can inspire people. I think that I am going to focus on selective colour for this shoot to make the photos look more interesting. I think that this will make my photos look better than if I were to edit them to look normal. The slight edge that this will give them appeals to me and I think other people would find it much more interesting to look at. To see the type of photos that I want to try and produce look at my frost post further down the page.
What I actually achieved
The photos that I took were really interesting. Some of the leaves and flowers that we outside were really interesting and had detail on them that I could highlight in photoshop which is what I liked most about this shoot. The shoot overall went really well, although it was really cold. But then it has to be to take photos of frost. Anyways, the photos that I took were all interesting and I could do something with all of them regarding selective colour to make them look more intriguing which is what I enjoyed about the shoot.
What I plan to do next
For my next shoot I am going to make another stop motion that is going to be more thought out. I am going to use jelly babies to try and create a really mini story that I hope will portray through the photos that I take. I think that this will be more interesting than my other stop motion because I have thought much more about how I am going to do everything which is obviously going to work to my advantage.
